On September 27, Stefan de Koning will talk at the congress Het Geheim van Den Helder at De Kampanje theater in Den Helder about the SeaSaw as a symbol of global warming and sea level rise. It will be a day full of lectures, presentations, workshops and more regarding the topic of urban renewal and other themes that revolve around it. Stefan will talk about the design of the SeaSaw and its viewpoint on bringing the city and the sea closer together whilst representing the dynamics of the sea in its infinite movement.


Partner and Architect, Stefan de Koning has a broad design background that includes both interior architecture, and architecture. Having begun his career working for several artists, and Dutch Opera Interior Designers, De Koning joined MVRDV in 2001. Fundamental to his design practice, is pushing boundaries through a strong focus on concept and narrative. He carefully merges the art and practice of building by routinely transforming concept into built reality, through his dedication to professionalism and consistency.
