“So what’s next? A completely transparent wall? An entire facade that is there, but can almost not be seen? A fully invisible building, unobtrusively occupying space whilst still fulfilling its primary functions? Can we push this disappearing act until only the memory of the material remains?”
MVRDV has designed an experimental wall of glass bricks for the exhibition ThingNothing at the Vanabbe Museum in Eindhoven, as part of Dutch Design Week. The project explores the immaterial in an extremely physical, architectural way. The wall was developed together with the Technical University of Delft and glass supplier Poesia®, a division of Vetreria Resanese S.p.A. The exhibition is on until November 15th, and also includes a selection of Lego tower models made by the Why Factory as part of the PorousCity Research Project.
