MVRDV co-founder and principal architect Nathalie de Vries will kick off the March Reviews by giving a lecture about housing and urbanism at Architectural Association School of Architecture, based in London on January 11. The subject of the lecture is ''Living: Indoor-Outdoor''. She will also focus on where MVRDV finds its inspiration for projects and how these sources of inspiration influence the design reasoning.
‘’I think it is very important that we all realise how important the quality of our homes is, so that we are able to be there all together. Moreover, it is really about making sure that public space is distributed equally among everybody, and the same for users – it should be more equal in terms of who is using the street.’’ – Nathalie de Vries
The Architectural Association School of Architecture has over 800 full-time students, 7000 members, 250 tutors and 100 administrative staff from all over the world. It is one of the most influential schools of architecture worldwide. The several curricula offered at the school afford the Architectural Association a rare degree of awareness in acknowledging and confronting the social, technological and cultural challenges of today.
