Have you always wondered what exactly a productive city is and what role transformation plays in it? The reinvention of cities can help transform bland industrial zones and purely residential areas into mixed-use, creative neighborhoods. MVRDV Director Sven Thorissen will discuss the topic further by using MVRDV examples during the Internationale Bauausstellung 2027 StadtRegion Stuttgart on June 23.
Director and Architect Sven Thorissen currently oversees MVRDV’s Das Studio, explicitly focused on growing the office’s profile and portfolio in Germany. Sven leverages this broad range of experience with private and public organizations, across architectural design, project development, and sustainability in his studio leadership. Projects that benefit from this insight include Werkstad Grasbrook, Potsdam Kreativ Quartier, KoolKiel, Turm mit Taille Vienna, EXPO Pavilion 2.0, and Franklin Mitte.
International Building Exhibition is a three-day event in the end of June organized by IBA’27 StadtRegion Stuttgart, where Sven will be presenting on the first day. He will give a presentation, which be followed by a panel discussion and feedback from other speakers. Beside Sven representing MVRDV other speakers will be coming from O&O Baukunst and German Urban Institute. The event is directed towards professionals, developers, government and administrative officials.
- Date and time: June 23 – 17:00 – 19:00 (CET).
