We strive to live up to the immense ambition of housing projects that respect the human scale, and are so flexible, diverse, innovative, sustainable, social, affordable, and exciting. We work at every scale, from single family houses to monumental buildings containing over 1,000 apartments. Instead of creating a collective monoculture, we like to mix people and create buildings for many different inhabitants, being representatives for the vertical demographics of their city. Studio director Gideon Maasland will speak about our vision on future of housing at Building Holland 2021 on November 2.
Director and Architect Gideon Maasland joined MVRDV in 2016. Maasland leads MVRDV’s Studio 8, which is responsible for large-scale, complex buildings. He leads all projects in his studio under development and construction, including Valley, Tripolis Park, and the transformation of Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, as well as various projects in Eindhoven, Poland, and the UK. Renowned for his detailed and dedicated approach, Maasland’s work is hands-on. To ensure the highest quality, he is often on the construction site directly overseeing building processes.
Building Holland 2021 is an event that focuses on sustainable innovations in the construction and real estate sector. Different organizations in the construction and real estate sector will present their visions, innovations and solutions to make the sector zero carbon. Gideon Maasland will use our project Valley as a case study during this event. The main language of this event will be Dutch.
