The Depot Boijmans van Beuningen, the world’s first publicly accessible art depot, open its doors on November 6. Would you like to learn more about our ideas behind the design of the building, then join us at the Museum Vakdagen. Fokke Moerel will give a presentation and tell you everything about the Depot Boijmans van Beuningen.

MVRDV partner Fokke Moerel was one of the first architects to join MVRDV in 1998. She leads projects with a focus on public and cultural works, transformations and interior design all around the globe. Fokke has completed award-winning designs such as the Baltyk office tower in Poznan, Poland, the Book Mountain Library in Spijkenisse and the Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy in Amsterdam. Currently she leads the interior architecture department at MVRDV and she is overseeing the construction of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.

The Museum Vakdagen are all about sharing knowledge of the museum world. The main topic of this fifth edition is ‘’Collection in motion – the best contact moments inside and outside the museum’’. Fokke is going to talk about the process where architects, clients, local government and the audience came together and about how to keep the whole collection safe in one building. The main language will be in Dutch.
