Besides monumental buildings containing over 1.000 apartments, MVRDV also designed single family houses such as the Double House, Barcode House, Villa Stardust and Didden Village. These projects acted as testing grounds for experimental ideas and inventions that responds to the client’s individual needs by creating cosy homes. Partner Fokke Moerel is going to talk about MVRDV’s individual home projects at the Home DNA conference of Structum Lithuania and the Lithuanian Union of Architects on February 3, 2022.
MVRDV partner Fokke Moerel was one of the first architects to join MVRDV in 1998. She leads projects with a focus on public and cultural works, transformations and interior design all around the globe. Fokke has completed award-winning designs such as the Baltyk office tower in Poznan, Poland, the Book Mountain Library in Spijkenisse and the Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy in Amsterdam. Currently she leads the interior architecture department at MVRDV. Furthermore, she managed the construction of Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, the first publicly accessible art depot in the world.
The ‘’Home DNA Conference: Synergies between functionality and design’’ is organized by the Lithuanian Union of Architects in cooperation with Structum magazine. The conference is publicly accessible with a registration and will be broadcasted via Teams. The main language of the lecture will be English.
