Mixed urbanism is a crucial approach enabling lively dense cities. Winy Maas will further explore and identify the possibilities of mixed urbanism at the Architectuurcentrum Eindhoven, as he shares inspiring plans and ideas for Eindhoven’s inner city, amongst others, and the possible densification of city centres.
Winy Maas, architect and urban planner, balances practice with academic leadership in his development and execution of sustainable cities and spaces. Aside from his work for MVRDV, he is a Professor of Urbanism and Architecture at the Delft University of Technology, leading The Why Factory. His green, user-defined, and sustainable vision has led our office to many award-winning projects including Rotterdam’s Markthal and the first publicly accessible art depot in the world, the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.
Architectuurcentrum Eindhoven is a centre that stimulates and inspires debate about architecture, urbanisation and landscape in Eindhoven and its surrounding areas. The Eindhoven Region Architecture Foundation aims to promote high-quality developmental conditions for both built and unbuilt environments. Through their activities, they strive to create a space for networking and the exchange of information between architectural and urban institutions in and around Eindhoven.
