We believe urbanism is a tool that challenges people to choose a different – more sustainable, more social, more liveable – future. Would you like to learn more about our sustainable project development? Join Jan Knikker at SA.lt Magazine's 100th anniversary for journalism in architecture in Kaunas, Lithuania on the 27th of  May!

Jan Knikker joined MVRDV in 2008, just as the office had begun to face the consequences of the Global Financial Crisis. Prior to this, Knikker shaped OMA’s public image for nearly a decade, after having first began his career as a journalist. As Partner and Director of Strategy at MVRDV, Knikker drives Business Development and Public Relations efforts, spearheading a large and dynamic studio that also includes the office’s visualization capacity. He further leads the office’s branding efforts, and MVRDV’s expansion into new markets, by supporting the office’s ambition to generate solutions to global challenges through a multifaceted approach to architecture and urbanism. In addition to his extensive public relations work, Knikker has written and contributed to numerous MVRDV publications and exhibitions, including MVRDV Buildings with Founding Partners, Jacob Van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. Deputy Editor of Domus 2019, he also regularly contributes to a range of design-field publications.

One hundred years ago, in a time span of less than 20 years, Lithuania became a modern country in which architecture reflected the most advanced tendencies of modernism at that time. Therefore, Statyba ir architektūra - SA.lt magazine, is organizing an event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of professional journalism in construction and architecture, to encourage and inspire the adoption of the best global practices within the field of architecture. SA.lt magazine is the longest-published periodical issue on construction and architecture, covering subjects of architecture, engineering, interior and urban design since 1957.
