In an ever-changing socio-political landscape, nothing is certain anymore. Thus we see the need for architects to master the skills of adaptability and flexibility as a means to keep up with the new ways of the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, architects were tested on these skills because utilising nature as a resource became more important than ever.
Is there a new architecture and sustainability in spatial planning waiting for us? Valentina Chiappa Nuñez will lecture at the "Days of Architecture" in Montenegro with a focus on the event's topic of 'Architecture behind the mask' and unpack how MVRDV has adapted during these unstable times with the work of their projects. The Days of Architecture is a multi-day cultural and educational manifestation that includes: exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions and lectures by world-renowned architects.
Valentina Chiappa Nuñez studied architecture at Politecnico of Milan and gathered experience throughout her professional career in the Netherlands in past ten years. At MVRDV, she has worked on the concept and design development of various projects, mainly for urban scale projects both within the Urban Studio and giving her contribution across several departments as an urban advisor. Recently she has been responsible for developing the realization of One Green Mile in Mumbai, the transformation of a 200-metre-long unused space beneath a flyover infrastructure into a public space for the local community.
