Water is a crucial resource, but is it a curse or a blessing when it comes to building a future-proof planet?

On November 23rd, MVRDV’s Founding Partner Winy Maas will be kicking off the Lab Talk of the new ANCB programme “Building a Future Planet: We Want Water!” in Berlin. There Winy will explain MVRDDV's approach to resilient architecture that works in harmony with natural resources such as water, as well as moderating some panel discussions. The discussions will aim to identify and talk about sustainable, water-related architectural and urban development projects with the role of water in climate change mitigation as the central topic. MVRDV's work with water on projects such as Tainan Spring or the Hoowave Water Factory will be put forward in order to provide tools on how to use this resource in the best possible way.

Organized by The Aedes Metropolitan Laboratory, this Lab Talk will kick off a series of public discourse events within the frame of the programme “Building a Future Planet” around the following themes: water as a resource, water and the city, water and building, water and innovation. This event is supported by the German Ministry of the Environment, the Embassy of the Netherlands Berlin, and in collaboration with the Technical University of Berlin.
