How do you design and integrate green infrastructure into our cities?
On 8 November at the 20th anniversary edition of the CitiesAlive conference, Senior Computational Designer Leo Stuckardt will not only consider this question from a range of in-progress and delivered MVRDV projects, but incorporate speculative research from MVRDV NEXT. Reflecting on projects such as Rotterdam RoofScape, the Rooftop Catalogue, Green Dip, Valley, Seoullo 7017, and NovioTech, Leo will illustrate MVRDV's mission towards intense, nature-inclusive cities through visions, data-supported systemic approaches and concrete architecture and infrastructure constructions.
Senior project leader and architect, Leo Stuckardt, coordinates MVRDV NEXT, an in-house R&D group he co-founded in 2017, that centres around experimental design technologies, computational workflows, and new forms of narratives. Orchestrating collaborations with MVRDV’s architecture and urban studios, he implements new design methodologies in MVRDV’s work to enhance design capabilities, streamlining processes, and exploring the future impact of MVRDV’s work. With a focus on emerging technologies, computational tools, and speculative design, he regularly engages in teaching and lecturing, which he regards as integral to his role at MVRDV. Leo is currently a guest teacher at The Why Factory, TU Delft and CTU Prague.
