On June 16th at 19:00, MVRDV founding partner Jacob van Rijs will deliver a lecture at the Disseny Hub in Barcelona. Organised by ARQUIN-FAD, the lecture is presented in connection with the FAD Awards – in which Jacob was president of the jury – with the FAD Awards ceremony taking place the following evening. Jacob's lecture, titled ReviveR: On Revitalisation and Renewal will showcase MVRDV's recent transformation projects, placing the practice of renovation and transformation into the context of the climate crisis and the goal of reducing embodied carbon emissions in construction. Projects discussed will include the Shenzhen Women & Children's Centre, Project Gomila, Nieuw Bergen, and a preview of the recently completed – previously unseen – flagship store for Urban Revivo in Beijing.
