MVRDV's regional director for North America, Rutger Huiberts, will be taking part in the CitiesAlive 2026 conference held in New York this week. Delivering a keynote lecture on the morning of the conference's second day, October 1, Rutger will show the potential of rooftops in solving issues of ecological and social resilience, and the value they can add to the city. From research and experimentation projects such as the Rooftop Catalogue and SolarScape, to practical implementations such as the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Idea Factory, and Nieuw Bergen, Rutger will demonstrate how realising the potential of our rooftops can go from theory to reality.
