Winy Maas will discuss the work of MVRDV in the context of democracy, participation, and the civic duty of architects everywhere. The event will be attended by the President of Chile Michelle Bachelet to honour the importance of spatial planning on the government's agenda.

With the theme of 'Architecture + Education : The country we want', this year's XIX Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism in Chile will be held from the 16th to the 26th of April, 2015 in the city of Valparaiso at the Parque Cultural de Valparaiso. The park, renovated in 2011, will host pavilions, exhibitions, workshops, awards, lectures and discussions, in an event which attracts up to 25,000 visitors each year.
