Tianjin Binhai Library is one of the finalists of the second annual Surface Travel Awards. The Travel Awards are Surface's annual tribute to the most thoughtfully conceived spaces and products, as well as to the architects, designers, and other innovators who inspire, empower, and connect travellers. Winners will be chosen by an esteemed jury from the worlds of architecture, design, art, fashion, and hospitality, with the exception of the Instagram and Hall of Fame categories, which will be decided by a public vote.

The jury includes Anda Andrei, creative director, interior designer, president of Anda Andrei Design, and last year’s Travel Designer of the Year; Gabriela Hearst, fashion and accessories designer; Daniel Humm, chef and co-owner of Make It Nice (Eleven Madison Park, The NoMad in New York and Los Angeles, and the fast-casual restaurant Made Nice); José Parlá, artist; Paula Scher, graphic designer, painter, and principal of Pentagram; and Steve Wilson, art collector and co-founder of 21c Museum Hotels.

Winners will be announced in the July/August Travel Issue of Surface and celebrated with a private event in New York this August.
