Competitive Dialogue for Grasbrook Hamburg

undefined

Since September 2019, the planning process for the new Grasbrook district on the south bank of the Norderelbe has been in an intensive and decisive phase. Within the framework of a so-called "competitive dialogue", twelve internationally renowned planning teams (six each from the fields of open space and urban development where MVRDV is in competition with ADEPT, gmp, Herzog de Meuron, KCAP, Mandaworks) are currently working on the first concept ideas for Hamburg's new innovation district. On the evening before the first jury meeting, in which the number of participants will be reduced from 12 to 6, citizens will have the opportunity to get to know the designs and comment on them.
So the citizens of Hamburg are invited today at 5PM to the Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity, where all 12 proposals, including the one of MVRDV, are exhibited. From December 4 to 10, 2019, there will also be an opportunity to view and comment on the designs online for the first time during a competition! The online participation will be available from 04 December at https://www.hamburg.de/grasbrook
Subsequently, the remaining participants will concretize the urban development and open space planning drafts. They will then be presented to the public once again in a 2nd jury meeting before a final decision is made. The aim is to define an overall urban and open space planning picture of the new Grasbrook district by April 2020.
From 4 December 2019 to 5 January 2020, all concept ideas will be on public display in the HafenCity InfoCenter in the Kesselhaus.
