The Aarhus School of Architecture first opened its doors to students in the beginning of October 1965. Since then the school has prided itself in becoming an alternative place for architectural education. 50 years later the institute is celebrating its anniversary with a series of events, including an exhibition featuring videos by all of the significant architects who have influenced the school through visits, lectures and by their works.
The exhibition, which focusses on the school’s motto: Engaging through Architecture, comprises of 50 video cubes which give the audience the opportunity to experience names such as MVRDV, Daniel Libeskind, Peter Zumthor, Zaha Hadid and many others. MVRDV’s contribution to the exhibition is a short film on the Markthal, Rotterdam, which features interviews from Winy Maas, stall owners and residents of the iconic building.
The event will run until the 15th November and is open Tuesdays through to Thursdays from 10:00 to 15:00, and Fridays from 10:00 until 14:00; entrance is free for all.
