From September 2024 founding partner Winy Maas will be leading a Design studio at the Architectural Institute in Prague (ARCHIP). Set to be delivered on the topic “city movements: the mobility master”, the focus is on the relationship between new mobilities and cityscapes.

This is a further development of Winy’s current academic activities in the Czech Republic, which started in 2022 as a guest professor at the Czech Technical University’s Faculty of Architecture in Prague. The project CZ2 - Visions for the future of the Czech Republic, brought together students from five Czech and Netherlands universities to present their thoughts on the country´s future. Those results, incorporating hundreds of ideas across a variety of themes ranging from reforestation and national parks to sociology and economics are now featured in a travelling exhibition organised around a large-scale map of the country.

Winy Maas is a landscape architect, urban planner, architect and founding partner of MVRDV, renowned international studio based in Rotterdam. Besides his work for MVRDV, he is Professor of Urbanism and Architecture at the Delft University of Technology, where he leads a global research think-tank - The Why Factory.

ARCHIP is an international architecture school with a three-year architecture undergraduate programme and a two-year graduate programme in Architecture and Urbanism. Programmes are fully accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education and notified by the European Commission. The school has around 100 students from over 20 different countries, and is in the centre of Prague, Czech Republic.
