We are thrilled to announce that both Ragnarock and Tennisclub IJburg are nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2017!

The prize objectives aim at promoting and understanding the significance of quality and reflecting the complexity of Architecture's own significance in terms of technological, constructional, social, economic, cultural and aesthetic achievements.

The award is granted every two years to acknowledge and reward quality architectural production in Europe.

MVRDV worked together with COBE on the Ragnarock museum project and will continue to work collaboratively on the next phases of the Rockmagneten masterplan.

MVRDV's The Couch located in Amsterdam is designed for the IJburg Tennis Club. This building combines a club house and tribune by folding up the roof at the back and pulling it down at the side of the center court to form an informal spectator platform.
