This week, MVRDV's Markthal in Rotterdam was awarded the 'VIVA Best of the Best' shopping centre in the world, by ICSC. 

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has announced the winners of the 2017 VIVA Awards, honoring the retail real estate industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions, and creative responses to market trends. VIVA Best-of-the-Best Awards reward the most outstanding examples of shopping centers in the categories Design and Development, Sustainability, Marketing, and Community Service worldwide. The awards were presented during a ceremony at RECon, the premier retail real estate convention held in Las Vegas.

The Markthal is the winner of VIVA's Design and Development category. Markthal Developer Provast was present during the Las Vegas ceremony to receive the award.
