Since its opening on the 20th May, more than 2 million people have visited Seoullo 7017 Skygarden, the 983-metre botanical walkway in the city of Seoul. It is estimated that in this first month an average of 90,000 people visited the project each weekend day.

The project transforms a disused city highway into a linear park and walkable plant library, showcasing more than 200 local species of trees, shrubs, and flowers. With its location in Seoul’s central district, the skygarden is a major step towards making Seoul more green, friendly, and walkable.  Seoullo, translates to ‘towards Seoul’ while 7017 refers to the overpass’s construction date (1970) and its transformation to a new public park (2017.)
