Arjen Ketting (NL) is an Architect, and Senior Associate at MVRDV. As a BREEAM-NL Nieuwbouw en Renovatie Expert, BREEAM-International New Construction Assessor, and Climate Expert, Ketting leads the Climate Team in combination with his work as a Project Leader. Leveraging this extensive background and experience to the benefit of a wide range of projects in the office, from single-family housing, to urban plans, and from concept phase to execution, he is driven by the passion to collaborate with as many people as possible, make connections, create partnerships, work together to make sustainable projects and ultimately a sustainable society possible. To this end, he consistently challenges design teams to integrate sustainable design practice in every stage and facet of design concept and development, including incorporating robust circularity and bio-based building strategies.

Ketting joined MVRDV in 2008 after having worked for a number of building engineering and architectural offices where he amassed considerable knowledge concerning the practicalities of building, laying a strong foundation for his niche sustainability expertise within MVRDV. Since then, Ketting has contributed to numerous high profile projects in MVRDV’s portfolio, especially as Project Leader in the design stages, and post-occupancy for Buitenplaats Koningsweg, and the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen. He currently consults in his Climate Expert role for Blok 18 Hyde Park, Kavel 3 Westerpark West, Suzhou Grand Theater Planning and Architecture Design Competition, De Doelen Haalbaarheidsstudie, Nuvo Business Park, Sloterdijk 2 Blok 1, IJsselhallen Zwolle, Trespa paradise, Havenervaringscentrum.

Ketting completed his Bachelor in Building Environment studies at the Haagse Hogeschool, and his Master or Architecture at the Academie van Bouwkunst Rotterdam.
